This bill is idiotic. Drag shows are for fun, not to arouse prurient interests. Like obscenity laws in general, SB43 is the State's attempt to regulate behavior it deems offensive.. Cathy makes a good point. What about Pride events? What about a trans person who dresses as the gender other than their birth gender? OMG, I'm aroused. Put that person in jail.
Like much of this bill, it's open to interpretation. Most Pride parades happen on public streets and feature at least some folks dressed in drag. If police or government officials determine that those in drag are dancing or singing for "prurient interests", then yes, it could be shut down or arrests could be made under our reading of this bill.
I recently saw a high school performance of the musical Oklahoma. To fill out the cast, many young women performed in male roles as "cowhands" and were part of a group referred to as the "boys." It appears that there were not enough males in the chorus to fill all the male roles, so females were put in those roles. Would that be a violation under this bill?

I agree! Well done! Thankyou!
I may be missing something in this bill, but would this bill preclude people in "drag" from participating in Gay Pride parades?
